Your Hosts

We are Bob and Sondra Zimmerman and we
are the owners and hosts of Happy Day Lodge.
We have two sons, Dylan and Ethan, and as a family, we enjoy fishing,
hunting, exploring, swimming and picking blueberries. Of course, the
boys love to go fishing and bug catching. If you have children,
they are especially welcome ~ our boys enjoy making new friends!

Our lake is 20 miles long with about 10,000 acres of surface water, 128 islands and 133 miles of shoreline. The size of our lake offers many opportunities and we can share lots of advice when needed. As time permits, we enjoy spending our time fishing right along with our guests. We enjoy showing them new areas on Lake Windermere or taking them to one of our five portage lakes just off of Lake Windermere, which offers another 10,000 acres of prestine waters to fish.

We as owners enjoy the size of our camp because it allows us one on one attention with our guests. We look forward to making new friendships, exchanging fishing and hunting stories or even sharing a fish fry together. Our family is young with lots of energy and enthusiasm. We are dedicated to making your stay enjoyable and a memorable trip for a lifetime.

So this spring, summer, or fall, we welcome you to vacation at Happy Day Lodge. Sometime in October, after our moose hunters leave, we pack up and head south to Delta, Ohio (located about 20 miles west of Toledo) for the winter and wait for spring again. So, if you are in the Chapleau/Wawa area, stop in and visit us. We would love to show you around and share some information with you about us. If by chance, you have some extra time that day we invite you to give Windermere Lake a try and experience the beauty and great fishing that Windermere has to offer you.
